Overview

    Radio and television broadcasting students will study general education courses and basic courses in the school of fundamental art and science for the first and half years. Then they will come to the professional school and start to study core courses. During the four years, credit system is adopted, which helps students freely choose their curriculum, teachers, studying time and their length of schooling under the professional guidance of the training program and according to their interests, hobbies and specialties. Students may graduate in advance after finishing the required credits and grades. The credit system greatly mobilizes the enthusiasm of the teachers’ teaching and students’ learning initiative and fully embodies the “people-oriented” concept, which allows the students to master the learning initiative.

Objectives

1. To gain all-round development in  and master the basic knowledge of journalism, communication studies and broadcast television.

2. To accept the elementary training in the radio and television news mining, writing, editing and commentary and have good political qualities, extensive cultural knowledge, perspicacioussocial observation, broad international perspective and solid professional skills.

3. To be capable to engage in news gathering, editing, planning, post-production, integrated management in broadcast television news agencies and related units media (radio stations, television stations and their websites), culture media companies, enterprises propaganda department.

Future Outlook

Therefore, the major is intended to consolidate students’ basic capabilities in camera shooting, interviewing, writing and panning with the focus on the training of students’ practical operation skills in online news editor, cross-media communication, etc. The students’ employment will incline to the information collection of new media and the integration and communication of cross-media. As to the future development and curriculum setting-up of radio and television broadcasting, the proportion of new media will be increased because, based on various mobile terminal equipment, the new media will be the important channel for the dissemination of information.
