Introduction

E-commerce major began to enroll students in 2013. Currently there are more than 200 students. The major has a relatively reasonable constitution of teachers in terms of age structure and knowledge structure, with a total of 12 teachers, including 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 6 lecturers and 2 assistants. All the teachers have master degrees (or higher). There are 4 young leading teachers, 5 dual functional teachers, which meet the basic requirements of teaching and research. E-commerce is transforming from school specialty to provincial specialty, with provincial excellent courses Introduction to E-commerce and Dreamweaver.

Objective

This major is aimed to develop skill-oriented and interdisciplinary-oriented network marketing engineers with knowledge in management, economy, law, computer, and e-commerce, and with inherent qualities in human spirits, scientific literacy, and honest quality. It can provide training in systematic networked marketing skills to suit different jobs, including network development maintaining, marketing planning of products and service, management of the relationship with client, management of e-commerce project, and planning and operation of e-commerce activities.

Characteristics

This major has been actively taken teaching reform for many years, which encourages students to learn and do in the real and open environment to involve themselves as a role of major marketing. According to the development of e-commerce and reality of the university, emphasis is laid on the cultivation of business awareness, practice awareness, innovative awareness, brand awareness, team awareness, and systematic awareness. Based on the real tasks of company network marketing, the teaching is aimed to develop students’ core e-commerce skills in website planning and evaluation, marketing and management innovation, website edition and management, network marketing and management, platform orders and customer service, website marketing and management, brand planning and development. Bridging the gap between study and job is our orientation.

Prospect

E-commerce is accelerating towards manufacture industry, dedicates to upgrading service industry, and promotes newly-born industry to be new motivation of the economic development. E-commerce is a new engine to better economy; a new way for people to do pioneering work, and a new means to provide public product and service; and a new method to make overall plans of domestic and international markets. E-commerce is a main and core aspect in the “Internet+” project. E-commerce innovation and development in China needs to go to the world combined tradition with modern development in the future.
