Introduction

Computer Science and Technology major began to enroll students in 2005. Since then, curriculum has been improved and great reforms have been made in curriculum, objective, knowledge system and ability structure based on social needs. There are 17 teachers, among whom associate professors or above account for 47%, including one provincial renowned teacher and one provincial excellent teacher.

Objective

The major is aimed to cultivate high-level application-oriented talents with good humane spirit and scientific literacy, solid professional knowledge, qualified practical ability, strong sense of innovation and engineering awareness, who have the ability to analyze, design, develop, test and maintain the softwares such as mobile application, Web application, database application, Japan outsourcing and other softwares in accordance with international norms.

Characteristics

Computer Science and Technology is aimed to cultivate application-oriented technical talents of application and development of computer, technical support and service of computer in Qingdao software and information service industry. Faculty of Information is dedicated to turn this major as a professional in terms of orientation, training program, practice teaching system, school-enterprise cooperation and training model. CCB model has bridged the gap between school and companies. This major is the key project that the university has focused on, the outstanding engineer education and training project in Shandong Province and the key project established by Qingdao City and the university. Specialty construction is guided by CDIO, which advocates “production-study-research” integration, and “teaching-learning-doing” combination. School-enterprise cooperation is deepening widely and the second classroom is in effect. Teaching content keeps pace with market change. Training environment and entrepreneurship program are the concern of this major which is dedicated to developing IT talents.

With the accelerating social development, computer, as an important social tool, is common in all fields of human life today. The information industry has also entered into golden period of development. Big data technology, cloud computing and other new technologies are emerging. Great changes have taken place in mobile devices. Smartphones, represented by iPhone, are becoming part of people’s daily life. Besides, computer science and technology play an important role in medicine, finance, agriculture, meteorology, industrial production, robots and so on.
